「內觀」(Vipassana)是印度最古老的自我觀察方法之一。內觀的意思是「洞察事物究竟的實相」。此技巧在兩千五百多年前重新被釋迦牟尼佛發現並將之傳授,教導如何對治人類普遍性的痛苦及解脫痛苦的有效解藥,它就是生活的藝術。
此無宗教派別之分的技巧,目標是根除內心所有不淨雜染,達到無上喜樂和究竟解脫。它的宗旨不是用來治療身體上的疾病,而是爲了對治人類的痛苦。
內觀是透過對自身內在的實相觀察來自我改善的方法。將專注力有系統依序地集中在觀照身體上的感受,從而體驗身心運作過程持續不斷交接所造成的相互影響,身心兩者密切互相關聯。借著透過觀察、探索自我的旅程深入身心共同的根源,將所有不淨雜染消融,達到平穩、安定、和諧,內心充滿著愛與慈悲。
一個人的本性,成長或倒退,如何不斷製造痛苦煩惱或從中尋求解脫,透過內觀的親身體驗,就會清楚明白。且合乎科學定律瞭解到如何操縱著人類思想、情緒、判斷力和感情。亦會發現人生有所轉變,覺知力不斷的增強、不再被錯覺、假像所蒙蔽、有自主力及心境安詳平靜。

wen cheng, is tis one same like the one i told u tad day? bout how our sifu teach us to look back and observe our own feelings in meditation? yupz... it's working o..im practicing it now cz i thk it's useful and practical in my life here.. *vipassana*
er.... actually different teacher has different approach to teach their students... i m not sure about what you rev. has taught you but if you found it is practical in your life then juz practice it..

hehe..yupzz they r all v frenly and nice..now i help up wif thm in Dhamma sharing group.. joined several activities and gained new experiece..like tis Retreat camp.. i miss kbsteens... cant wait to go backkk!!!
